Hell's Kitchen noticed when the elephant arrived. Here is what neighbors and guests have written.
"Elephant Ear Puts a Northern Twist on Thai Dining"
When we opened in November 2024, Hell's Kitchen's own news site, W42ST, came to visit.
"A new Thai restaurant is bringing the spices of Northern Thailand to Hell's Kitchen, in the same spot that was once home to the popular Thai eatery Room Service."
The story, Spicing Up Hell's Kitchen: Elephant Ear Puts a Northern Twist on Thai Dining by Dashiell Allen (November 22, 2024), told how business partners Lay Liang and Patrick Li renovated the space at 690 Ninth Avenue in under two months of "day and night work". The W42ST Daily newsletter invited readers to "check out Elephant Ear, a new Thai restaurant in Hell's Kitchen, serving bold Northern Thai flavors and unique dishes on 9th Avenue."
